'Science and the Real World'
University of Melbourne Program in History and Philosophy of Science Postgraduate Conference - 16 November
9:30-5pm followed by conference dinner
School of Graduate Studies, 1888 Building, University of Melbourne.
Organised by the University of Melbourne History and Philosophy of Science
Postgraduate Association (HPSPA).
Papers from postgraduate students are invited on topics broadly related to
the relationship between science and the 'real worlds' of society,
politics, education and/or 'reality'. The conference will explore how
philosophies of science can engage with scientific practice, how
scientific knowledge is communicated, and how scientific expertise is
constructed.
Presenters must be postgraduate (or undergraduate) students. Abstracts,
not exceeding 200 words, are due by Friday the 2nd of November 2007.
